Sew to Win Change | Print |

The participation in Sew to Win has been dwindling. To encourage more members to participate, Sharon Bailey has proposed a new method for Sew to Win that will give the blocks continuity and order for a quilt. Janet Grayson had a similar program in her St. Louis guild and they had 60-80 members participate each month.

Starting with October's Sew to Win, Sharon with the help of Janet will prepare packets of fabric with the pattern included. The packets will be sold at the meeting before the next Sew to Win for a nominal fee, usually $1.00. If a speciality fabric such a batik is used, the packets may be $2.00. If it is a scrappy sort of block, not all the fabric would be included in the packet, giving members some leeway to use their own fabric. Each month's drawing will be winner take all.

At the August meeting, Sharon will have 30 kits available for the October Sew to Win. Plan to pick up a packet at the August meeting and prepare your block for a chance to win all the blocks at the October meeting.
