Membership in the Ohio Valley Quilters' Guild entitles you to the following:

• Meet and build friendships with people who enjoy quilting as much as you do

Ohio Valley Quilters' Guild was founded in April, 1981, by people interested in preserving the heritage of quilting, promoting excellence in the art and communicating old and new ideas.  It is in pursuing these goals that OVQG provides a variety of services for its members:

• Brief business meetings are followed by Show & Tell during which members and guests are invited to share their quilt projects by display and brief explanation.  Meetings are followed by educational and informative programs by members and guest speakers.  (Prior notice is requested in order to be included on the agenda.)
• Each member receives a copy of The Ohio Valley Star, published monthly.  The newsletter reports on upcoming quilt activities and contains articles contributed by members on special projects, shows, or workshops they have attended and quilt books they have read.  We offer yearly and monthly rates for business advertising.
• The Guild has a library of quilt books, magazines, videos, newsletters, slides, templates, stencils, quilt blocks and educational materials that are available at monthly meetings.  Members may borrow items free for one month.  Library materials may be renewed for an additional month by phone to the Librarian or her committee. 
• In addition to the monthly general meeting, members get together informally in smaller groups.  This provides an opportunity to share, learn, and improve different quilting techniques as well as meet other Guild members. 
• OVQG organizes workshops by both local and outside quilting teachers as well as by nationally recognized experts.  Members pay a discounted price for workshops.
• As the Cincinnati chapter of the National Quilting Association, we help with NQA events in our area and periodically produce our own quilt shows.
• Some quilt shops will give a discount on purchases when your OVQG membership card is presented.  Please ask before your purchase is tabulated. 

Members are encouraged to utilize all these services and participate in and help with the many activities.

Be sure to renew your membership at or before the December meeting to be included in the 2008 Directory which will go out in January.  Dues for 2009-2010 are $30.
